In cooperation with the TUV office, IDAL organized an info session on "The Tracking System for Agricultural Products and its Role in the Penetration of International Markets" at the CCIAZ. Chairman Nabil Itani stressed the importance of the tracking system as it governs each stage and each phase of product processing and packaging, to ensure good management of food safety. He declared that the year 2016 is an achievement in itself for the agricultural sector, as we have been able to stop the decline in the volume of exports occurred in the previous years. The Agri Plus figures were maintained at the recorded level in 2015, with agricultural exports reaching 350,000 tons.

IDAL participated at the First Conference of Local Development in Iklim El- Kharroub held at the BAU premises in Debbyeh. Chairman Nabil Itani, stressed the need to implement the comprehensive development plan, developed for the region, by providing it with all means of success: exploitation of assets and natural resources, enhancement of the economic and social impact of the proposed projects, mobilization of the manpower potentials and energies, and activation of the economic link with its expatriates spread in the countries of the world and encourage them to contribute to development.

The Union of Municipalities of Iklim Al Kharoub honored Mr. Itani during the conference in recognition of his efforts and IDAL`s support for the development projects in the region.

IDAL participated in the Silk Road Conference organized by the Fransabank Group and the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce. Chairman Nabil Itani said that the “Belt and Road” initiative is a considered to be a strategic cooperation project, based on joint building and integration of development strategies in countries along the belt and the road to achieve economic prosperity, unleash the potential of the market, stimulate investment, generate job opportunities and enhance human and cultural exchange. Itani called upon taking advantage of this initiative by organizing workshops aiming at boosting this cooperation and setting recommendations to enhance it.

The Chairman of IDAL Eng. Nabil Itani discussed with a delegation of Bulgarian businessmen the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries. The delegation visited IDAL under the chairmanship of Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bulgaria, accompanied by the head of the Lebanese-Bulgarian Business Council Ahmad Alaa Eddin. Eng. Itani spoke about the role of Lebanon which could serve as a hub for foreign companies to access Middle Eastern markets, declaring that the Lebanese expatriates all over the world could enhance the access of products and goods beyond the borders of this region.
