IDAL's Chairman Eng. Nabil Itani met with a Delegation from the World Bank to discuss potential projects that could generate employment for Lebanese in key sectors. Discussions tackled he role of IDAL in identifying these key sectors and providing the right tools to foster job creation from providing tax breaks to companies to supporting in developing clusters.
IDAL and SLFI organized a joint press conference to announce a new program to support the agro food industry. The Chairman IDAL Eng. Nabil Itani said that IDAL has developed a new integrated program aiming at increasing the volume of agro food exports and enhancing their competitiveness. He also announced the Council of ministers resolution that approved IDAL's proposal to subsidize Lebanese agro food participation in three relevant international exhibitions this year: Gulf Food in Dubai, Fancy Food Show in New York and Anuga in Germany. The Chairman of the SLFI Ahmed Hoteit declared that this program provides an opportunity for small enterprises that can not afford participation in international exhibitions to be present in such events, introduce their products to foreign markets and increase their exports.
The Chairman of IDAL Eng. Nabil Itani toured the free zone in the An- Nasr City - Egypt, visiting plants which manufacture board wires and buttons for the most important car factories in the world. Eng Itani stated, during the tour, that these industrial areas with all the features and infrastructure they provide, contribute to the promotion of the productive sectors and increase their competitiveness, especially industry. He announced that the Egyptians are keen to cooperate to deploy this experience in all Lebanese regions.
